Women’s Empowerment Summer Film Series

The Chicago Cultural Center will be holding the Women’s Empowerment Summer Film Series on Sunday, Aug. 15 and Sunday, Aug. 22. All screenings are free and open to the public! The event will feature a series of films that highlight issues affecting women in the U.S. and across the globe. The event is presented by ITVS, Chicago Foundation for Women, Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Chicago Public Media.

Aug. 15 @ Noon – Made in L.A. by Almudena Carracedo and Robert Bahar
Aug. 15 @ 2:30 pm – Taking the Heat by Anirban Roy
Aug. 22 @ Noon – Going on 13 by Kristy Guevara-Flanagan and Dawn Valadez
Aug. 22 @ 2:30 pm – Troop 1500 by Ellen Spiro

Tonight! – Join Chicago NOW for a Documentary and Panel Discussion!

We will watch and Discuss America the Beautiful, a film by Darryl Roberts that examines America’s obsession with beauty and physical perfection. After the film Chicago NOW board members will participate in a panel discussion with Darryl Roberts, an Art Director from Playboy, and a District manager for Mary Kay.
