Utah woman charged with murder after her baby is
born still-born. This case is being sold as a woman too vain to have a
C-section, yet it is clear that there is some mental illness involved;
this woman appears to have been homeless, and possibly an addict. The most
underreported aspect of the case is that this woman did have a C-section
and just one day afterwards
she was taken from the hospital and put into jail.

Arizona Governor vetoed a 24-hour waiting period
bill. There does not appear to be a chance that it will be an override.

The United States was the only country to cast a
"no" vote to reaffirm United Nations family planning convention at the
International Conference on Population and Development Latin American and
Caribbean regional meeting in Santiago, Chile.

At the 48th Session of the Commission of the
Status of Women, the US voted against a resolution to release women and
children hostages because it contained language on reaffirming the Beijing
Platform due to concern about abortion language. It was the only country
that voted against the Platform.

Bush Administration would like warning labels on
condoms to warn that condoms do not protect all people from all STDs.
While this is true, it appears to also be a way for the Bush
Administration to hype up their abstinence-only education despite a recent
report that cites that young women who pledge to stay virgins are less
likely to use condoms when they break that vow.

Ashcroft & the department of Justice subpoenaed
& then dropped their request of medical records of women who have had
late-term abortions. They only dropped their request against Planned
Parenthood clinics. The subpoenas are still out there for hospitals like
Northwestern.

House of Representatives.

South Dakota bill to ban abortions dies in the
Senate.

Pryor is second recess appointment for Bush.

FDA still delays decision on OTC status for EC.

The boycott of Warren Buffet’s
shareholder-designated contributions program was successful. In that
program money was allocated to Planned Parenthood. The anti’s were able to
shut this program down. Pampered Chef was one entity targeted.

Word is that a bill in the IL Senate will be
proposed to limit Medicaid coverage of abortions.
♀
State officials approved the merger of West
Suburban Hospital Medical Center in Oak Park with Resurrection Health Care
after the Chicago-based Catholic health-care system agreed to spin off
three clinics that will continue to offer family-planning services,
including emergency contraception for rape victims.
