Domestic
Partnership Registry Passed
The domestic
partnership registry introduced by Commissioner Quigley was passed by the
Cook County Board of Commissioners, and is expected to be operating soon.
While the domestic partnership registry does not automatically confer any
additional legal rights, it is an important step toward full equity and a
meaningful symbol of the County's support for the GLBT community.
CNOW Board Member Meghan Streit testified on behalf of CNOW at the human
rights committee hearing that preceded the vote.
