CNOW's Educational Fund
The Educational Fund of the Chicago Chapter of the National Organization for Women is the tax-exempt 501 C3) section of the board. The Ed Fund’s mission is to participate in and create educational activities that positively impact women and girls. We believe that education is the foundation to all empowerment.

Since 1982, the Chicago NOW Educational Fund (CNEF) has been dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls in Chicago through its referral service, its educational programs, and its speakers bureau.

CNEF’s referral service provides an information network for people with a diverse set of needs ranging from domestic violence, divorce and child custody, sexual discrimination and harassment, funding for starting a business, reproductive health needs, and a variety of legal issues. All referral calls are answered by CNEF volunteers who connect callers with a range of resources, professionals, and organizations in the Chicagoland area.

Our educational programs are provided to raise public awareness of women’s issues, as well as to promote interaction and dialogue among program participants.

CNEF members also often also speak at high schools, colleges, and universities seeking information on the women’s movement and NOW activities.

CNEF has 501 C3) tax-exempt status and all contributions to CNEF are tax-deductible.
