The goal of the Chicago NOW Reproductive Rights Team is to educate and inform the community about issues affecting a woman’s right to choose in Chicago and throughout the US.
2010 will be an exciting and active year for the Reproductive Rights Team. We’ve been participating in events with other groups in Chicago to educate the public and to gain support for the Reproductive Health and Access Act. The team also participated in a Lobby Day in Springfield to urge the legislature to pass the RHAA. We are actively working with the RHAA coalition to plan other community events to spread the word about the bill.
Other Reproductive Rights events include educational panels and the Chocolate for Choice fundraiser. Most recently, we mobilized our members to make sure that the Chicago City Counsel approved the Buffer Zone Ordinance.
